Renbourn style pickup setup

I love my Martin 000X1 with Journey Tek pickup - which is like a K&K but with a built-in EQ. My friend (an amazing guitarist) came round yesterday and was quite taken by the sound. He suggested that using a strip piezo for the bass response and the Journey Tek for the high end would be the best of all worlds. 

I know John Renbourn used to do this with a mic and an undersaddle. 

Does anyone know here how to implement this exactly?

Any dual channel preamp with eq, you'd just roll highs/mids off on the undersaddle and roll lows off on the mic. The other benefit is that lows feedback faster so you're using the most feedback resistant pickup for thise frequencies.

Thanks Whinny_Pooh that’s really helpful. I’m going to get a Bose S1 Pro as soon as funds allow. That has two channels each with treble and bass, although the EQ is quite subtle it might allow for a pseudo treble and bass split. 

I’m guessing with the Journey Tek having a special Jack with built in EQ circuit, it would be best to leave that alone and add another jack socket for the piezo strip?
