Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk

Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

In defence of @fastonebaz ;the only other alternative to an abrupt ending is that it carries on forever - much like trying to finish a live version of Hey Jude

That's how I got it. I try not to change what I get, apart from setting a level that leaves headroom to add the solos.

You can include a fade if you want to, or whatever takes your fancy

Ooh if forgotten about this one it was from a few months back now.  Yes the ending is a hard stop to be sculpted beforehand as seen fit.

I might just cross-fade it into a duplicate track over and over again stretching it out to 17 minutes of (in my case very repetitive) pentatonic noodling. Seems appropriate as the inspiration is clearly a Comfortable Hotel....

The more i listen to the backing track, the more I want to jam over it for 10mins  

In hindsight, I think the ending was a bit abrupt, but I was trying to keep within 1min or thereabouts.

Mastering has been approved by my children with the helpful comment of "there's a lot of guitar in that"

Brought to you by gain, delay and reverb with usual guitar and amp

The title refers to my need to practice more lead, especially above the 17th fret, as my fingertips hurt from all the bends
