Thank you all very much for the kind words.

I've added a few finishing touches (a transparent pick guard and a sound hole label), levelled the frets and given it a setup and I must say, I like how it sounds (fortunate, really ;) ). It's surprisingly loud and very clear.

Will post something in the next few days.

Well, a few days turned into a couple of months... finally, I have some sort of demo.

(Disclaimer, I'm not a good player)

Audio was recorded using a Zoom H1n in front of the guitar (you can see it in the centre of the frame).

Audio level was fixed and constant throughout. No audio processing. (Apologies for the foot thumping that comes through occasionally).

The odd buzz is me not fretting cleanly.

Hopefully it reflects the very resonant nature of the guitar. Everyone who has played it has remarked favourably on the tone.

Curious to hear any feedback on the guitar (not the player!)

I can only agree. Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back. You've done something a bit special.

This is amazing, and even more so for a first build. It's easy to underestimate how much work and thought has to go into something like this. Very very well done.

Amazingly well-documented and explained thread. The attention to detail both in the engineering and the explanation is awesome. Chapeau!

Surprisingly clear and responsive. Many shop bought acoustics I’ve had the opportunity to play haven’t had that clarity.

Yep that's awesome, as @Roland says, very clear and responsive. I've said it already earlier in the thread, but considering that's a first build... that's just awesome.

Thanks - I think it must be beginner's luck. I'm well chuffed with it, anyway.

One of the best build threads we have had and great to have the demo at the end as we so often don’t get to hear the finished project. Give it a few more months playing in and that will be up there with the best. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to number 2 lol

I'd somehow never clicked on this thread until just now - I read the whole thing over breakfast and it's great! Fantastic job :)

    Thank you again...

No current plans for another one, but the idea of a mahogany topped parlour guitar has some appeal :)

I am in awe when anyone builds a partscaster, therefore I have no words to describe your excellent acoustic guitar build. Congratulations and enjoy your creation.
