I pine for Bar 6 and real Cadburys Dairy Milk
Good shout, I loved Bar 6 and they did a nice one called Loot too. I still buy the odd Cadburys DM bar but the yanks have changed the recipe…it’s oily and got a greasier texture to it now. Probably full of palm oil. It used to be a really solid  chocolate bar that was quite hard to break into squares.

Sorry to say I never liked Caramac. Or the Fry’s bar with the different colour fondant centres that @Dominic mentioned. The peppermint cream one was nice though.

My Mum and Dad used to buy them for *them only* whenever we bought any 'weekend treats'. As such was like that 'smell of a Pub from outside'  allure to a kid. I will miss that.

  • I used to absolutely love Caramac when I was about 6 or 7, it was my favourite but only for a short period in my early life. Ever since, I’ve resisted buying it again in case I’m disappointed. Now, I will go to the corner shop tomorrow (where I see them all the time) and buy one. And yes, I will be disappointed.

  • Even featured on tonight's episode of Have I Got News For You?

I'd forgotten about the original Mackintosh wrappers ... 6D and 5p versions in the old livery.
