is the power amp simulation bypassed with the IR?
    or
is it just the IR bypassed and power amp sim stays on?

@sgosden the power amp sim is 'always on' on the output. If you want to bypass the IR and the power amp sim, you have to go out of the effects send.

Worth noting the “IR-D” is being released soon. A Dirty Shirley version.

I wish he'd release a pedal based on Channel 1 (Plexi) - the Small Box one Dave F suggested as 'a possibility, isn't quite it.

Yeah, I think I might be picking one of those up to try out. A Twin Sister plus boosts for each channel sounds awesome! Fingers crossed it’s as good as Mr Friedman is saying it is. Out late April according to last weeks Tone Talk

    cheers.
I'm very tempted by one of these + the matrix power amp already have.  The power amp sim would be nice feeding into the matrix's flat response.
