Novation Launchpad - Advice please!

Hi all, 

My daughter uses one of these at school and wants one for Xmas. We can stretch to the Novation Launchpad Mini Mk3.
She is also having a laptop - from richer relatives than us!
The Launchpad comes with free Ableton Live Lite, which I expect will be plenty to get her going. 

Quick question: is there anything specific the laptop needs to have, spec-wise, to work well with the Launchpad, or should any fairly economical current laptop do a decent enough job?

I've not used that but I have the NI Maschine Jam, which is similar.  For me, I had to get used to thinking in block patterns, rather than linearly, but if she is already using one, then that shouldn't be an issue.  I use Cubase with mine, but actually Ableton Live is a better match.    Depending how old your laptop is, the only thing you might need is at least USB2 on it.

Sorry I missed it was a current laptop.  In that case it should have USB3 on it anyway and will work fine.
