HELP !! Which Powered Mixer Choice ?

So a good friend of mine needs to replace his Peavey 2 x 600W 8-Channel FX Powered Mixer. It is the XR 696F model.
It has been used in an Indian Temple, so a similar kind of layout may help...
What modern equivalents, in all price ranges, would you recommend ?
