wow that is lovely,    the top is dark, but somehow when you see the lovely maple, it really kind of "lightens" it ?   works well together -

Whats the neck like ?   oh and we do need a soundbite or two..............

about the same £ as WIlfys vets bill (so far) but they dont give me discount  :)
Well the neck is a medium "U" profile in my opinion, with an excellent satin finish...hasn't taken any time at all to feel at home in my left hand.

    Nut: 1 23/32

    Bridge 2.2 inches

If it sounds and  plays anything like as good as it looks then you've got a wonderful guitar there!

Ouch! 43.65mm for people who don't read archaic. And yes, I had to do sums to figure that out.

So 1 23/32 nut. How are you expected to even estimate the fraction?
    Thank God for mm.
The British way. 16 ounces in a pound, 14 lbs in a stone etc. Even the old base 12 money was decimalised eventually.
Sorry, this old horse is rearing up high again.

Measurements aside it is a lovely looking guitar!

just because you don't, doesn't mean you can't
just because you do, doesn't mean you should.

Base 12 and base 20, 12 pence in a shilling, 20 shillings in a pound!

    ^ 1760 yds or 5280ft in a mile.... Not to mention 144
Pennies to £1.  Give me metric any day.
Oh and drive on the other side of the road to almost everywhere else.

They still drive on the left in Australia but at least they had the sense to adopt km as the unit of measurement.
     :o

Actually, 40% of the world drives on the left. Remember outside obvious places like Oz and NZ and the UK, you have huge car-using populations in places like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and Japan.

I been to India several times and from what I witnessed,  they drive on the left,  on the right,  in the middle, any direction,  the wrong direction,  you name it they're all over the place.

    Don't forget the pavement too.

When I was in India I was hit by a vehicle when I was walking on the pavement.

Guess by what kind of vehicle.

The answer is obvious. It was an ambulance of course.

I considered blind buying that in the sale. What is the body depth at the bridge? They sound great on YouTube. Don't understand why he doesn't push the bridge lower (edit it's 14 fret, that's why)

So the Atkin was better than the Martin OM18? I want to try the OM18 but had same experience at other shop, Atkin sounded better. Have always wanted to try Bourgeois. I would have chosen the same I think. Happy NGD

  • I remember similar when I was trying electrics. I had budget of £1k and walked out with a £4k PRS. It was the right thing to do.

Love the burst btw, I recently got ANOTHER Larrivee with similar burst. Think it's very cool, character! I'd also love to hear a clip of your new beast

I love that burst, it seems a little lighter in the flesh.

I'm a bit stuffed for sound clips as I'm all packed up in preparation to move house & I've "tidied away" all my guitars, my mikes & cables etc except for a strat & one amp... :#

It's 11.6cm deep at the bridge.

    9.6cm deep at the neck.
