About 10-12 years back, I bought 10 kits of E-Bay, came from china, My mates daughter was in art college at the time, so I got her to design a sticker to go over the top...

The idea was..I was going to put them together and sell them for a couple of quid profit..get mine and said mates for free essentially. I thought..I'll call them Kane's Klon Klones...I'll have the K's in red..and big..the rest of the letters small...Turns out...they looked like an advertisement for a particular club based out of the southern states...

I've tried a fair few of them, both direct copies and derivatives with added EQ etc, and every one of them has had a grainy, metallic upper-mid characteristic that I detest.

So this thread is actually useful as a list of pedals that I need not ever bother trying, if I had been unaware of what they are.

I find my RYRA clone works great as an overall subtle enhancer. Also works very well in front of a gain pedal or driven amp as in my Tweedy-luxe thread vid I uploaded

I brought a diy kit off wish!  About £20, I have no idea how it compares to a real Klon but to my deaf ears it sounds immense!
