Founder member of the Dixie Chicks has died in a car crash.

 She had managed to reach the age of 65 years, but sad nonetheless.

I think Lynch was on the first three albums, effectively before they became well known (first as The Dixie Chicks and then as The Chicks). I have seen them live once and just superb, but long after Laura had left. 
As I've just had my 59th birthday and was told several times that I am knocking on the door of sixty I'm going to say that 65 is no age. Sad news, RIP.
