Amp tech in or around Swindon area

Evenin folks, I'm wondering if anyone could recommend someone reputable to bias my amps in or around Swindon? 

 I won't name and shame but there's one fella I've been to in the past who in hindsight, I believe took advantage of my meager knowledge of amps to top up his pension and totally rinse me well beyond what it normally costs to bias and service a fender. I got a second opinion from a tech in London and he believes it should have cost me half of what I paid to have the work done. Forgive me for ranting, just needed to get that off my chest - my fault for going with the first guy that popped up

Afraid I don't know if any amp techs.  Never used one.

I live in Swindon and know Chris Taylor to say hello to. I’ve never used him though because I learned to do my own amp maintenance.

Someone else has just set up as an amp tech and shared their contact details on one of the Swindon FB groups for bands/musicians. I’ll try to post a link on here if I can find it.

@Springywheel ; - I suspect Ive used the same person, with mixed results in my case.

I haven't use Tony, but know others who have and have provided good reviews.

Also look at The Witney Music Rooms on FB - bit further afield, but again good reviews.

This guy in East Hanney is meant to be good. Maybe too far? 20 miles down the 420 from you. Doesn't take long.

Nah not too far, and he does fretwork as well so I could possibly hit two birds with one stone there. Cheers john.

I had a quick look at his website out of idle curiosity, and it says 'Specialist repairs to vintage valve amplifiers (pre-1980)'. It would be interesting to know whether he applies that strictly, or is just trying to head off maintenance nightmares like Mesa Boogie and Blackstar!

Yeah I'm always reading about people having issues with repairing out of warranty PCB based amps, particularly blackstar.

Thanks again for this. Tony got the job done at a very reasonable price. No trying to invent imaginary faults to fleece me out of 600 quid like the other c***.
