Boss ME-90 modelling same as GT1000?

Allegedly the ME-90 uses the same AIRD modelling as the GT1000 - does anyone know if that’s really the case? I tried the amps on the ME-90 and couldn’t get a decent sound out of it through a power amp and real cab, but that may be due to some weirdness about the way the ME-90 works. Certainly didn’t come across as ‘next gen’ tech anyway. I’ve not tried the GT1000 though.
