Squier Strat Affinity Truss rod nut size???

I have a 2000 neck with a missing nut on the truss rod
The vagueness of the interweb is sending me in circles around fender without any concrete size for this nut. Can any one point me to a source of truth on this?
As I would prefer to try this before I peel off the fret board and replace it.
