    Presumably, you seek hard-wired EMG pickups rather than the Solderless™ versions?

    To me, properly vintage EMGs are the ones with the raised logo moulded into the corner of the plastic cover. Those are difficult to obtain now.

    Yeah! Hard wired ones, I've got one set of newer ones in a guitar and I really prefer the sound of the older ones, plus I need them for guitars that are going back to period correct spec anyway.

    Old Gordy project strat I’m gonna strip down - early ‘80s floyd in black - screw in posts - chrome nut n emg .81 wired no tone pot - will have pics early next week

    Hi, are you still looking for early wired EMGs? Ive a SA set with an SPC from the early '90s black, they are worn but play fine.  Cheers
