Friedman Pink Taco v2 - anyone A/Bed with the original?

As confusing as Friedman's line up of 20W amps is, I've decided that the Pink Taco v2 sounds pretty good. Has anyone here upgraded from the original to the V2?

Would be good to know if it's a fundamental tone change, or simply extra switches for flexibility.

brighter, more gain, less hiss plus a fat and saturated switch. Largely the same circuit.

I’d like to check one out as I think Friedman’s are a bit dark normally.

Thanks for finding that. More aggressive seems to be the design idea.

yes i have had both, i found the V2 more 'fruity' i know thats a non amp speak but its all i got, its way more ready to get all alive with pinch harmonics and the 12in speaker is a major plus for me

  • Sounds like it would cut better with other instruments if it’s loud enough
