The clear out continues.   Amazing Barnbuster form Ron Kirn. A truly pure Telecaster experience, beautifully built plays and sounds incredible.

If you are into Tele’s you probably know about Ron and these guitars. Built with very old Ponderosa Pine, 75 to 100 yrs old, so getting around the age when Leo was building the very first Tele’s out of pine. This one is also roasted on top of that (which not that many Barnbusters are) to further get into that old guitar sort of tone. Full nitro, done in the original way, no layers of other stuff underneath.

Neck is a really chunky sort of C, beautifully rolled edges, impeccable fretwork and set-up, it has Ron’s original hand wound pickups which are absolutely lovely, 4 way switch giving option to have pickups in series. Lots of nice touches with recessed neck plate and jack. Has dings and marks etc. pine dings quite a bit easier and finish is very thin, this is not a guitar that wants to be carefully looked after, it’s waiting for someone to fully turn it into a relic, so don’t buy if you are looking for something to polish and admire.

The other bonus with this guitar, is that very old pine Teles can, contrary to popular belief, be VERY heavy. Even early Fenders. Sometimes getting towards 9lbs. The weight on this, probably due to it being a great piece of wood and also the roasting, is 6.9lbs.

Absolutely superb guitar, cannot get a better Tele for this kind of money.
