Maybe not well-known to the average Fretboarder, but the label he ran (initially with two friends but latterly on his own) released the first two singles by the Super Furry Animals, most of Gorkys Zygotic Mynci’s output, and a few things by Y Cyrff (who became Catatonia when they met Cerys Matthews). And a whole load of fantastic Welsh language stuff ranging from the folky blues rock of Steve Eaves to anarchist rap collective Tystion. I knew Emyr from university days and although I hadn’t seen him for a few years, I reguarly bought stuff from his website - the most recent being the Datblygu retrospective Terfysgiaith. His passion for releasing important music will be missed.
