Ah sad news - someone was playing California Soul on the radio the other day, now I know why. Absolutely killer voice, beautiful and powerful.

Had a good chunk sampled out of her back catalogue too, off the back of the Rare Groove scene. That Blue Boy tune that was never off the radio in the late 90s springs to mind.
