Herman Miller Aeron ergonomic chair. Size B.

What's Hot
octatonicoctatonic Frets: 33798
Herman Miller Aeron Office Chair is a high-quality ergonomic chair: a staple of the recording studio environment.

It has a range of adjustable features, including Seat Slide Angle, Tension Control, Seat Tilt.
The chair has a mesh back and seat, providing great breathability and lumbar support.
I replaced the gas canister a few months ago and it is in excellent condition.

£1000 when new.
These are going for £350-400 on the usual sites.

£300 seems fair.
Collection only from OX29.

Great chairs and great price. If I didn’t already have two I’d snap that up

Cheers, yes we already have two as well.
I just need to reclaim some space in the studio.

I've listed it for more elsewhere but if I can sell it to a forumite I'd rather do that.

I've never even sat in a chair of that quality / price.

Even though I spend 8-10 hours a day at my desk I've got a £60 Staples office chair.

I’ve always been interested in these chairs. Do they do a model with adjustable arm rests that can be lifted up and out of the way or removed altogether?

I just bought the Hinomi for this reason. I work from home, but also wanted a chair for my studio use too. Have to say, apart from finding it ugly, it’s brilliant. Adjustable everywhere, arms can be moved up and out the way, and most importantly, backache be gone.

Just for future reference for anyone, yes, you can just unbolt the side arms

Fab chairs, we have had them for 10 years at work , and when COVId hit, we could have one for home . Really good for desk work.  I’ve got short legs so the ability to shorten the actual seat (not just move it forwards and backwards” is great so it doesn’t cut into my calves

I worked at a company in 2001 that had these chairs for every desk, I love them
Also - they are lovely and cool in the summer, because you are sitting on mesh.

I've had 2 at home for donkey's years
I remove the back rest insert, there are certainly a lot of ways you can tweak them

Be aware there are different size models.

You can but also you can angle the armrest away from you if need be.
I never take the arm rests off and it is fine.

I have an old costco chair with arms removed for playing guitar on, but most of the time I just play electrics in my Aeron and tolerate the ergonomics.
    Acoustics are trickier for me.

If you ever get the chance fretmeister to try one for an extended length of time (days or better, weeks), just do it. As with me, you may not notice anything while you have the chair, but by golly you notice it when you don't.

With apols for the thread derail (but it has sold, so...) as we're talkin' Herman Miller Aerons, anyone know a good place to get them serviced/repaired?  I have one I bought used when setting up Covid home office, and it's developed this annoying habit of slooooowwwwwlllllyyyy sinking during the day.

Doubtless attributable to the lockdown pie and booze consumption lifestyle changes, but anyhoo.

I've tried the rick where you get the thing open and turn a little screw but can't say it seems to have made much difference.  I imagine it needs a new gas canister, and probably a set up and fret dress.

    Oh, based N London/Herts.

    I replaced the canister myself.
You can find tutorials on youtube.

You *really* don't need a tech to do it.
They are extremely simple devices and everything is adjustable.

One thing about replacing the canister though.
Mine wouldn't budge, I tried for hours to get it out.
I took it to my local garage and they used a hydraulic press to get it out.

I've replaced the gas lift on both of mine; one came out after a few whacks, but the other one wouldn't budge so I went back to the block who sold me the canister with it - he ended up using an angle grinder on it.

Cool!  Hydraulic presses and angle grinders sound the very meat and drink of user serviceability :D
