Decided to let go of my lovely late 90s Fender Vibrolux Reverb.
This amp was owned by Jez Williams of the Manchester band, Doves.
According to the written note included, it was used on the albums “Lost Souls” and “The Last Broadcast”, so likely appears on the massive hit “There Goes The Fear”.
Comes with a Doves stencilled flight case that has the remains of shipping stickers etc from past tours.
Now, down to the amp. This is a beautiful late 90’s Vibrolux Reverb, but I’ve had a tonne of work done to it.
When stock, these amps suffered from a high noise floor due to having their negative feedback loop removed and the reverb shared between both channels. The reverb on these was always so small and weedy.
When I received this amp, it turned out it had a fair few undisclosed issues. One speaker was dead, there was a weird popping/crackling noise every minute or so. Turns out that it was a bit of a mess internally.Transformer laminates were separating etc, so it needed a lot of work.
I have had this fully disassembled and hand rebuilt by Time Travel Audio in Edinburgh, so it’s now a hand wired monster of an amp.
Both transformers sent away and rebuilt.
Negative Feedback loop re-added.
Reverb and trem only on channel two.
Recapped.
Fully serviced power tubes replaced. (7/2/24)
Speaker cable upgraded.
Now has a 10” Creamback and a VT Jr in it.
Tonnes of low end, and just a massive sounding amp, but I tend to use my other amps more.
Comes with original foot switch for the reverb/trem, and comes with the Doves stencilled flightcase.
A great collectors item for a Doves fan, or just a ridiculously good amp for any guitarist.
Absolutely no shipping/postage.
£850
Shoot me an offer, I can only say no
Collection from Edinburgh or I can meet within a reasonable distance.

I've seen them 3 times so I've probably heard this amp
Also dig Doves
I think one of the times I saw them he had a Line 6 stack with a 4x12 and a Fender amp of some kind.
I jest...Doves are in my all-time top 10 bands
In case anyone had missed it, they should check out the 'Black Rivers' side project...some great moments on that album.
* for some reason, (and it's a comeback thing) I never quite bonded with 'Universal Want'...but it's still a possibility.
