I hadn’t heard of them/him before but this:
https://www.maksguitars.co.uk/collections/acoustic-guitars/products/mcnally-om21-cedar-walnut

might be the best playing acoustic I’ve ever played.

Would love to try a Spruce/Rosewood one
Red ones are better.

I saw that one the other week, probably should have tried it, but almost always prefer bigger guitars

A few of the Sam Irwin students (McNally being one of them) have posted up on the various acoustic guitar forums I've posted on the years, and it's been incredible seeing their first few builds to going onto being incredibly revered luthiers in a relatively short period of time.  The Northern Ireland luthier school seems to be one of the best in the world.

I almost bought that guitar. It was only by chance that Mak got a spruce/rosewood OM32 in just before I pulled the trigger. The OM21 is a lovely guitar and I would have been very happy with it, but I preferred the sweeter tone of the 32.

Ciaran is a personal friend of mine and all his guitars are superb, he is a very talented young man. He has a modern, state-of-the art workshop and completes every aspect of the build himself. Frankly, I don't know how he manages to make so many fine guitars singlehandedly!

I gotta say that cedar / walnut is a really fine wood combination. I have an Avalon like that and it is one of my favourite guitars.

Rosewood seems to suck out the mid range to my ear and spruce is nowhere nearly as responsive as cedar.

    Go with your ears.
