No word yet. If I haven’t heard anything by the end of the week, I’ll probably give the shop a call. Fingers crossed the diagnosis isn’t too drastic. Either way, I’ll be sure to update as soon as I hear back

Update:

The computer shop phoned today. To some extent, they've managed to get all components working apart from the CPU. However, for them to do a comprehensive test, specifically the motherboard, I need to get another CPU for them to do so. Once I've done that, the repair cost will be roughly £60, which I don't think is too bad. The only downside is the additional outlay for another CPU. In any case, I'll hopefully have it back up and running next week and will feel better about it all. Fingers crossed.
