Hi all

I have a Presonus USB 96 and want to connect it to my hifi.

I know the accepted thing is to have specific monitor speakers, but I am not in a position to do that at the moment.

So I think what I need is two TRS to RCA leads. Is that something that's commercially available or can I make my own? In fact do I need actual TRS plugs or would 1/4 jacks work (I do have those).

As far as I know there's no reason I can't connect the two unless someone knows different.

There's no point using TRS to RCA, just use mono jack to RCA

There's no issue using a Hi Fi for studio use. I've been doing it for years

^ What he said. The balanced benefits from TRS cables is lost with RCA connections.

You can find dual-mono versions of these on Ebay/etc - a single stereo cable with a L+R pair at each end, TS jack at one end and RCA at the other. I had to get one for the IK iLoud monitors which only have RCA inputs.

Thanks chaps. I am very familiar with standard plugs, but got the idea that the dimensions of TRS might be somehow slightly different.

I therefore have what I need somewhere in my leads bag.
