Just received in one of the new American Vintage II Customs and it's really great. The cunife pickup is fantastic thick and full but not muddy. Very pleased. Don't sleep on these!

Picture from the shop (amp not included).

Happy NGD. I had my eye on that one too - Jim Ramsay's Guitar Trade Centre right?

Is that one of the ones fender made wrong with the cutout? Seen them going cheap

It's a Telecaster. What's not to love. HNGD. It looks great and so do those Dr Zeds.

It has a tummy cut which isn’t vintage correct.
Deluxes had tummy cuts, customs didnt
Fender got the details wrong on the original run, which is somewhat embarrassing when they’re meant to be producing a vintage accurate replica.
Surprisingly they didn’t recall the stock and claimed they were a “factory special release”.

Ah! I had read about that. No - this one is correct through and through.

The six saddle bridge is a plus.

Similar to the tummy cut Fender bodged the first issue of the 66 Jazzmasters reissues with small headstocks which never happened with blocks and binding. It’s possible they had neck blanks to use up from the previous 65 reissues. They corrected it later with the large headstock.

I have one of those jazzmasters. I sort of get the furore at the time, sort of don't. All I know is it's a great guitar. And on the plus side, I can put it on Reverb in 10 years as *super rare***exclusive***one in a million***

My wife says the shop has lovely walls but your carpets let you down I'm afraid!

Awesome guitar though. I'm srsly tied between one of these and a 72 thinline for my next build.

Walls are mine, as is the carpet. May swap it soon enough.
