After the Kay LP I really hadn't been looking for a new guitar, though had thought about a modern Telecaster to go with me 52 Hot Rod.
Found this on Gumtree though and figured for the incredibly low price it was worth a look (not my photo):
It's a Legator Ninja 8 string
8 strings, fanned frets, 2 truss rods, totally unlike anything I've played before..
Mine has a couple of issues.
The seller was letting it go cheap as he'd tried to sell it on eBay and the courier had apparently dropped it putting a big (30mmx15mm) chip in the paint on front of the guitar at the lower edge. As well as that one of the tuners hadn't been fitted in line with the others (I've since corrected this).
On the plus side I've got the action down to about 1.6mm with no buzz, the tuner is now sorted, and I paid pittance for it (I initially thought the ad had a typo).
So after years of playing pretty much exclusively single coils and occasionally P90s I'm playing this with twin humbuckers and tuned to F#. It's a laugh to play, the fanned frets are surprisingly intuitive.

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
I bet getting a set of strings is fun!
Enjoy your journey with it!
Are the extra two strings both below a normal 6-string guitar or one below and one above?
@S56035 yes it's got 2 truss rods, which means you can twist/untwist it as well as standard adjustment
