Straight digital delays aren't the greatest at spaceship noises. From Boss probably an RE2 (or 202) or DD8 which really does a lot of weirdness. A DD2/DD3/DD3T more just your everyday delays.
I might be selling mine.
"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski
"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
If you're happy with the automated version of the spaceship noises you can get them on quite a few different Boss delays. I think the DD-20 was the first with the "warp" and "twist" modes, the RE-20 has them, the DD-500 does...
Personally I don't think they're a good substitute for being able to balance the feedback, time and level with real knobs, but that depends on what exactly you want to do.
Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
Tap for digital for the welcome to the jungle thing and knob for analog for natural sounding.
Generally speaking.
Any love for the DD6 guys? One relativly cheap close by on tinternet market place.
- various types of delay
- presets for storing your favourites
- tap tempo without having to add a separate switch
- sub-divisions
- it works in stereo
- you get the more basic delay sounds (digital, analog, tape) and the more adventurous ones (shimmer, tera, pad etc)
- all the controls are on the top, no menu diving
- doesn't take up a huge amount of pedalboard space
So I'd just set the delay time at the beginning of the gig and left it there.
It was quite exciting!
