I had all four wisdom teeth out at once (cue jokes) on the NHS. I was referred by my GP due to recurring gum infections. I had that under general anaesthetic and looked like a Hamster for a few days afterwards.

I've not been able to see an NHS Dentist since. I'm now registered with a private practice about a mile away from my home. The prices for check ups etc are comparable but the service is a lot better. The Dental nurse who works with my Dentist used to work at the NHS one that no longer takes new patients.

I don't have bad teeth, I've only had one filling prior to it falling out and taking half of the tooth with it.
Private Dentist fixed it for about £200 including x ray. Four years and counting and all good.
