Pickup surrounds for WRHB?

Do these even exist? I have only ever seen WRHBs mounted to a pickguard.

The original CBS Starcaster model had black surrounds. They were unusually wide along the shorter edges.

Good luck finding these without a Starcaster guitar attached.

I've never seen them. Maybe someone with a 3D printer could make some?

Thanks Paul. I'll bear that in mind when/if I get some. I need to look into this 3D printing malarkey sounds like a lot of fun to be had!

Ah yes I'd forgotten the Starcaster.

I think they are sloped for the carved top of the starcaster. I just need flat ones. I could try to make some out of pickguard material. Would need to be in the right frame of mind tho

You can sand them down with a piece of sandpaper glued to a piece of flat material. (Chipboard worktop offcut or something is ideal.)

That's if you can find a pair! The only ones I can find are Stateside - pretty cool though, made out of airline aluminum. I also sent Curtis Novak an email. I cannot believe nobody does them over here!

Until very recently there would have been no demand, as the only guitar they were used on is the original and rare Starcaster.

Had a trial go at making one freehand from an old 3 ply pickguard. Didn't go too bad.

I have a single ply black guard that I will cut them out of once the pickups arrive. I need to make them slightly more girthy, but I think this will do the trick. Will definitely use a guide the next time
