New Keelyley 4-in-1 drives

These look like a cool idea, I'd love to try them as part of getting a deeper understanding of how different circuits sound, I like the idea of a tone stack of one pedal through the drive section of another. But... a Rat and an SD-1 together could probably be had for around half the price of these 2nd hand, and not that much more new tbh...

My YouTube feed inundated with these but I just don’t have the enthusiasm these days to look at expensive overdrives. There are white versions as well, exclusive to Reverb I think, if you want a bit more exclusivity.

If these had midi to switch between the options they would be amazing but I have to agree with @soma1975 ; at over £200 notes a piece. Ouch

Never played a single Keeley that I’ve liked so it’s a hard pass from me.

The last Keeley multi pedal I owned was the Monterey…. *shudder*…. The single worst pedal I’ve ever owned.

They look nice but out of my price range.

This is like a last ditch money grab from an archaic industry trying to cash in before it gets shuffled off into the museum/nursing home with fenders and gibsons and gretches. What a load of pointless tosh.

Interesting, that’s the only one I’ve owned and I quite liked it. The u-vibe was good, as was the fuzz (imo)

  • Well I’m going to stick up for Keeley.. every Keeley I’ve had has been excellent.. Hydra, Dark Side and now own a Halo. These look interesting… two drives in one and blendable.. DS1 and Muff is what Wata from Boris uses.

Like every Tubescreamer that came after the original Maxon?

Well not really. They are the answer to the 'I want a (Itubescreamer tone but I don't want to be SRV' problem.

Who is out there desperate to test an SD-1 tone stack with a Rat circuit or whatever? Probably only pedal builders. If it works, make a pedal doing that. Even the promotional video with Tom Bukovac on the Nobles one he was like yeah just get rid of all that and give me the Nobels bit'.

I'll also add that I think Keeley make some incredible sounding stuff.

Just that this seems a bit of a folly.

The Angry Orange is odd, I thought the DS-1 had pretty much the same tone stack as the Big Muff. Being able to pick between them seems a bit pointless.

In fact, reading the product page they pretty much say that’s the case. The EQ profiles are almost identical.

I’d have thought having a “classic” and “modern” EQ option would be more useful here, but I guess that wouldn’t fit the series concept. Strategy tax?

I’m quite interested in the range, though. I love my Keeley Super Phat Mod, and design-wise these are great, with the sloped surface and top jacks. The Super Rodent is probably the most intriguing to me.

Personally I love the Keeley pedals, more so the weirder ones, and the build quality is excellent.

However, despite these looking fun, I really don't need anything like this, because I own some sort of variant of most of those pedals anyway....some were very cheap.

If they are as good as the Keeley cricket bats then......  (wrong thread?)

Not enough guitars, pedals, and cricket bats.

I've got a Subdecay vector that does that and more.

Oooh, I've always fancied trying that too actually, although knowing me I'd just leave it on the most Rat setting...
