Two Humbuckers
Seymour Duncan Bridge TB4 (JB) & Neck SH2 (Jazz)
5-way superswitch
Rather oddly wired
Position 2: both screw coils
Position 4: both slug coils
I would have imagined that the magnet would’ve been flipped to allow reverse polarity / reverse winding for hum-cancelling in these 'coil-split' positions
Interestingly, they are not hum-cancelling
So I’m thinking:
If I flip the magnet in the neck humbucker
Then the wiring would modify in this manner:
So, on the 5-way selector switch, I would swap:
Old red-new Green.
Old white-new Black.
Old black-new white.
Red to earth
I’m imagining that in positions 2 & 4
I will have the same neck pickup coil with
- Polarity reversed.
- Wind reversed
In position 3, I would have the entire neck humbucker (with the bridge PU)
Both Polarity and phase reversed - so in phase with the bridge HB.
Expert opinions most appreciated
