None, all of mine are (intentionally) different.

I did have three sunbursts for a while, but all different styles & shades I guess.

Sunburst I’m afraid - classic 3-colour Strat, a cherry sunburst Epi LP, Fireglo 330, and an old Gibson style Loar acoustic. It was worse - I swapped a suburst 50s Tele for a butterscotch one a few months ago.

I do have a fondness for natural, oil, or satin finishes. I particularly like burl.

I've got three guitars with a burl top - one blue/turqoise, one black burst, on green/purple burst.
I've got four guitars that are flame maple - one see through black, one vintage sunburst, one honeyburst, one charcoal burst.
I've got a guitar with a flip purple finish that changes colours depending on angle or light.
    I've got a black relic.
And one natural mahogany oil finished.

  • I don't get through many guitars, but it occurs to me that I've never had the same colour twice and I'm now wondering about the psychology behind that.

    5 black
    1 dark blue
    1 seafoam green
    2 pooburst
    1 butterfly

I only like really lightweight instruments so I'm usually stuck with whatever is light enough.

I really like off-white, like a Les Paul Custom or Fender's Olympic White but I don't have any of those at the moment.

All four of mine are different:

Gretsch Country Gentleman in Walnut Stain
    Strat in bright pink
Hofner in Jackson Pollock style splattered paint
    Jaguar/Strat hybrid in arctic white.

Hmmm. I've got a white Gretsch 'lectromatic, an off white Tokai Tele copy and a cream/yellow strat and Sandberg bass so it'd probably be white/off-white.
Dark cherry (Casino/ES-345) would be next.

At the moment I really like the brown finish on my Eastman T64: I suppose I'm just intrinsically dull.
If I was rich, I'd just buy loads of brown guitars or get them refinished. A walnut ES-355 would probably be the holy grail for me. Also, as at least one other poster has said, don't underestimate the value of being able to sneak new guitars into the house if they all look similar!

Multiple natural wood finishes seems not to indicate much at all though. I wouldn't have thought,Mr Freud?

Currently, it's 2 X Black, a PRS Fiore and a Sire Marcus Miller, with the others being different. Historically, I do favour solid, shiny Black
