1995 Hamer USA Artist Studio Semi Hollow Double Cut in 59 Burst colour - £950 SOLD
Continuing to rationalise my gear as I had to retirement and downsizing

I acquired this from the wonderful @prudd and have lightly played it at home so it is in the same condition as I got it and the description below is taken from the original listing (I hope that is okay @prudd )

Hamer made amazing guitars, to my mind they are far better built than similar USA brands but they have never really got the following they truly deserve. A beautiful archtop featuring a carved flamed solid maple top, One piece figured Honduran Mahogany body and Hamer's very stable 3 piece  mahogany neck, East Indian Rosewood fretboard,  factory Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, and Schaller tuners. Very resonant and a comfortable weight of 8Lbs

Used but certainly not abused, the comfortable chunky neck plays like a dream, The only thing that I have done is had the frets attended to by the equally wonderful @RevMatt as am pernickety about frets, much more so than any other guitarist I know!

Comes with original Hamer hard case.

Electrics all spot on. Frets all good. Adjustable wrap over stop tail piece.

There is some flaking of the varnish on part of the lower edge of where the Rosewood meets the Mahogany, doesn't affect playability and to be honest I'd forgotten about it until taking the pics, it is out of sight when playing. Looks worse in pictures to be honest.

I have not got a box so collection with a mug of tea in Nottingham or could get to a Fretboard car park if an hour or less away

I had a Hamer Sunburst in 1978 ;the first one to come to the UK . They were the very first Boutique brand ,started by Joel Dantzig the year before and hailed as a revolution in fine guitar making at a time when Gibson had lost some credibilty.
The quality of early Hamers is outstanding and they are very fine guitars.
Quite a few of these have sold for very considerably more money ......I have played one quite a few times and they are lovely...I've not been a huge fan of the pickups but that's a very personal issue between me and Seth Lover unpotted PAFS   in general......others love them .However the 'feel' of the guitar, neck and the comfort of the carved top is exquisite .
This is stunning value for money ......easily the equal of £3500 of the PRS equivalent

£1,100 is incredible value for money - and what a beautiful guitar!

59 burst is soooo lovely - especially on that top!

Thanks for all your kind comments guys, Much appreciated.
Also having been asked separately about trades, As I have put in a wanted listing, I am after an MJW as my one amp So would certainly consider a part exchange in involving an MJW - ideally an Orion or perhaps other MJW with power scaling ideally as I am downsizing house wise

    Hi @AJS ;;
    Easy part - Scale Length - 24.75”
Harder part is ‘tappable’- currently isn’t tapped for sure
My understanding is that Seth Lovers are too low output for a ‘good’ coil tap and don’t come 4 conductor as standard???
But I could be wrong, better qualified people may hopefully chime in
It never troubled me as I like the Seths just as they are but you could always swap pickups as Seths should get a good price imo
    Cheers
    Martin

This is a great buy for someone, as the previous owner I can attest to its quality and playability. Even considering buying it back of Martin TBH, will have to check the bank balance :)
