Player Plus Telecaster - any thoughts?

PC_DavePC_Dave Frets: 3396
I'm having a hankering for a Tele (again!) and i'm very intrigued by the Player Plus model, it seems to meet my requirements with locking tuners, more modern radius and belly cut etc.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and if they are worth looking at?

Cheers,

Dave

Try a Vintera 50s Modified as well.  Bloody good guitars.

I'm a fan of the Player Plus guitars I've tried, both the strat and the tele. The rolled fingerboard edges and 12" radius make them a lot more playable than the standard Player series imo. Then again I'm not a typical Fender player as I only usually play a Gibson, so YMMV.

But doesn't have the neck profile or locking tuners I would like...

Thanks for that - i've seen a second hand one, and for the price I think it might be worth a go.

I've got a silver smoke one and it's fitted in nicely with the other Teles (I'd have preferred no cutaway myself).

The noiseless pickups are on the hot side of things (being humbuckers) but sound ok to me.

Stay away from the “modern” player plus. A one off, non-standard in every way, Chinese built Fender with three pickups, but a bridge humbucker.

I’m sure the Mexican player plus ones are just fine and are probably great modding platforms.

I've played a mate's nashville tele player plus - it's a great guitar and I'd be happy to gig with it.
