This may be an incorrect opinion but the Ceriatone Centura is too damn big. Anyone know if it can be rehoused?

Takes up too much of my board.

Had that thought - but it doesn’t quite sound like them. I actually like this one a bit more?

It’s all in my head anyway.

Never mind all that, how does the new Memory Lane compare to the Jr?

Ok well - settle in. I am debating doing a sound comparison video. They are the same and not all at once.

I purchased the new one about a week ago because I like the footprint, and thought I would A/B and keep the one I like. Well, the new one didn’t kick the old one off the board, but it did move a DiG off. The H90 covers a lot of that same ground anyway.

Ok - back to the question at hand.

The new ML does not do dotted eighth - if you need that, you won’t find it here. The new ML doesn’t have the same modulation. The new ML doesn’t really match whatever black magic the old one has.

That said - it’s good, damn good. The new settings - vintage, warm, and modern all sound great. The warm is especially lovely and sits and decays like a DMM. The vintage and modern feel more like the older MLJr. I find it easy to dial in a fattening delay tone and just enjoy how it adds colour and sound. Really great.

The modulation - can’t quite figure it out. It’s not as pronounced as the older one, still lovely, but not as much warble and that’s a miss.

Overall - it’s fantastic delay and worthy of the Memory Lane name - but it isn’t the same. I’m slightly biased though - the Memory Lane Jr is my all time #1 delay. The new one is well ahead of so many others out there. Worth the pennies.

Nice one, thanks for the write up. I borrowed a Jr from a mate recently and they’re lovely things.

@Kent747 swap it for a Ceriatone Horsebreaker which is the same size roughly and your get a great BB as well as the amazing Ceriatone Centura circuit.

If not then we need to hound Nik into reissuing the Centura in a smaller enclosure.

Unfortunately the same reason why I had to let mine go. I don't know why but none of the other Klone's did it for me, tried all of the above to make the smaller footprint work, but no cigar.

They need to be big for the tone to circulate.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

Those mids just can't haunt properly if constrained

The visual literally makes it sound better if you think it does. It may "sound the same" as another klone but just seeing that shape on your board when you go to click it on affects how you're gonna hear it before you even press it.

Unless you've recorded it against another and matched the settings adjusted for pot value drift and can pick it out in a blind test more than 50% of the time consistently - I say keep it, it looks so cool.

You could always change it for one of these.
They might be a bit smaller and sound awesome .

The excellent JHS NOTAKLON Is a bit smaller but if you really want a smaller great sounding pedal ?
I can highly recommend this awesome little pedal.

No mention of a Tumnus mini? I had one and like it, although I’ve moved it on. Seems to be a pretty decent likeness of the Klon tone in a mini pedal. They have a normal sized one as well.

I really want to make a move but I can’t find one I like better. I had the Joyo variant and it was good but too bright. This has the ‘haunting miss ’ and ‘indiscernible magic highs’.
