Super rare 1988 Royal Angel Flying V.

These were top end guitars made by Kevin Chilcott in the late 80s.

I've never seen another one for sale.

Royals were used by Andy Powell, Tigertailz and Mitch Harris.

This particular one had a book matched birds eye maple neck, its original EMG pickups and Kahler Pro trem.

I've popped a link of a magazine review from 1987 of another Angel V, as you can see they were expensive guitars in the day.

I'm testing the waters to see what trade offers I might get on this.

I'd be valuing it at £2000

I've seen a few of his guitars floating around the Exeter area. All pretty nice builds, and bit of a local hero, etc

Hmmm - had a friendly call from Kevin years ago, enquiring if I was copying his design when I made a strat with holes to reduce weight - truth was I was kind of copying Russ Ballard's guitar which I think was a design influence on him too

^^ That is a fantastic story.  I'd always been fascinated by RB's guitar since seeing him play it on TOGWT(?) waaaaaay back in the day doing God Gave Rock 'N' Roll.  He was ACAF and possibly the first person I'd ever seen wearing a pair of Wayfarers.  I coveted both the shades and the guitar for years afterwards.
