Louis won an Oscar as best supporting actor in the film An Officer And A Gentleman back in 1983. The first black man to win best supporting actor. Anyone who saw the film will remember his part as a dominating drill sergeant and his clashes with 'Mayonnaise' ( Richard Gere).

Oh no he was ace in Iron Eagle , I remember his dad too in the film Skin Game which isn’t really politically correct now ,but he played a character who was a free man & partner with Con man James garner  who would sell him & then aid him escape & go on to the next town . 

His character in Iron Eagle was brilliant ,I’m sure I had both of those films iron eagle I & II I’m sure there was a second . Used to have the title track on a king cobra album too
