Been in London 5 minutes…..

What's Hot

And had to throw some guy to the ground who was trying to attack an old couple.

Then had to restrain him until the street wardens came.

Some guy came to help who had clearly been on the WKD blue all day.  He didn’t like being spat at and called a pedophile and then looked like he was going to kill the guy.

Fortunately the wardens came just in time.  They cuffed the guy on the floor and came under a barrage of racist abuse.  WKD guy calmed down.

I’ve now had a shower at the hotel and going to go to and have a nice pint or 2.

It's probably best to move to a more affluent part of the city.

I believe street wardens are the polite name for the private security goons back-filling the shortage of police in the more affluent parts of town. This is until Jack Reacher can be cloned several thousand times and deployed to all areas.
Old, overweight and badly maintained. Unlike my amps which are just old and overweight.

Be careful with your phone in public, they will be into your bank account before you know it.

Watch out in coffee shops too. There's a 2 person scam happening where they approach folks in coffee shops on their phone. One person starts begging for money (I think there was a badly written sign) when the target puts their phone on the table person 2 grabs it and legs it.

I don’t know.  I asked for police and I got people who looked a but like police but weren’t police.
It was a bit like when you go to Aldi, everting looks familiar, but it’s never the real deal.

I worked in Park Lane / Fitzrovia for a few years (before hybrid working was even a thing) and I have to say not once did I witness anything even remotely untoward happen. Sods law it happened to you on the one day you were there.

To be fair this can happen anywhere.  There’s a golden rule, don’t engage the nutter who is spurting out drug fuelled drivel, but the old guy who got in the argument was clearly from
a bygone era where anybody bad mouths you, you put your fists up.  He clearly was past fighting age so thought I’d step in.  But if it was just me, I’d have just walked past.

Was an easy throw down for a guy who was probably 6ft 4 and 210lbs of pure muscle*

    *slight exaggeration for dramatic effect.

To be fair I’ve spent loads of time in London over the years, never had an issue, always feels
much safer than Manchester, where I live.
