iPad Pro record amp?

Hi guys I want to record my valve amp but use an iPad Pro what’s needed to do this?  Mic’ing the amp or something like captor x?  And is the iPad viable to do this?

I’ve only ever just used the apogee hype mic and connected to an iPhone in the past so am clueless when it comes to real recording.

Mic and interface is the simplest. Well a USB mic would be simpler but I think they're aimed more at podcasting/streaming folks so may not be designed to sound great in front of an amp. 

I don't know the Hype Mic but you could try that first - it appears to be a mic with built in interface? 

The iPad Pro is definitely capable - GarageBand is an easy option, and you can even get Logic for it now if you really want.
