FS/FT John Cruz & Dale Wilson Masterbuilt Fenders

Didn’t think there was enough Masterbuilt Fenders kicking around here so thought I would add this one.

Very cool early John Cruz build in Burgundy Mist finish.

Fender didn’t have spec sheets back in this period but here is all I know

John Cruz Masterbuilt 1960s Custom Relic Strat in Burgundy Mist.

Neck profile is apparently a large V. .880 - .980 with 9.5” radius and Dunlop 6100 fretwire.

Fretboard is dark rosewood and the neck is straight grain maple.

Pickups are Custom 60’s wound to John Cruz’ specs.

Pickguard is a JV Guitars Custom made pre-CBS style aftermarket relic’d ‘guard with underguard shield.

Includes Fender G&G hardshell case COA and pictured candy

£8000 collected from West Lothian area of Scotland or can post 

I will also be in Manchester City Centre area next weekend so potentially someone can collect from there provided it doesn’t infringe on my weekend away with the missus too much (ooh er)

Dale Wilson Masterbuilt 60s Custom Telecaster

This sounds incredible and has a fantastic playing neck with a real worn in vintage feel. The relic work is stunning as you would expect. See floor traveller pics for spec.

Couldn’t agree more. I can’t believe I’m letting the fiesta red one go, but I just have too many guitars and no time to play them all

Only in a collection like yours can I understand a guitar like that needing to be played more!! It’s a great price too someone should snap it up but I’m derailing my own sale here

Cheers, I did that mate but they confirmed they don’t have spec on file for custom made guitars back then.

I know John Cruz has become a bit persona non grata but that's a lovely Strat.  And a 10/56 V profile on a rosewood board '60s Strat is a bit of a rarity.  Good luck with the sales!

That strat looks like it has teeth marks in,just below jack socket? Or is that a relic point?

You know if you have a serious interest in the guitar and have any concerns or issues with it, a pm would be the way to go rather than planting negative comments. I suspect that was just for amusement?

I wasn’t present when the guitar was relic’d and haven’t owned since new so really I can’t confirm what marks it left the factory with and which ones were accrued after however, even without any dental qualifications I am pretty confident the guitar has not been bitten.
