Anyone know where I can get the bolts to clamp strings on a Kahler locking nut?

I have had a google, but can only come up with sources in the USA.

I need to replace the bolts on my Valley Arts Kahler locking trem. It's the bolts that clamp the strings, not the ones that bolt the nut into the neck.

Bonus points if I can convert them to metric as the standard ones are 3/32

Anyone know of anywhere?

Which version of Kahler string clamp do you have? The behind-the-nut type or the Floyd type?

It looks like a floyd. So I'm going to say Floyd.

I compared the clamp block locking screws of my Kahler Steeler system to the Floyd Rose type. The threaded sections of the screws are the same diameter but the thread pitches are different.

If you had the Kahler string lock type that goes between a conventional nut and the E machinehead, I might have been able to help.

That's good info. I think that the floyd types have a metric thread and the kahler have an imperial thread - which are similar but different.

All of this means that I think I am going to need an original part - but still no idea of possible sources.

I had a look. I might give it a try, but I suspect that they are for metric threads.

If it’s a Floyd-type nut you may be better replacing the whole thing, that will also sort any problems with any other wear, eg to the nut top surface.

I did find it slightly amusing that a thread about bolts was posted by someone called allen  .

That is the part that I have on my Heartfield Talon with the Steeler vibrato bridge, only mine is black rather than chrome.

It would be necessary to obtain the correct R numbered Floyd Rose part to preserve the string path.

The Kahler clamp integrates a string guide into itself, negating any need for a tension bar. A headstock designed for the Kahler clamp might not have space to accommodate the Floyd Rose tension bar.

In fact, this is the bolt I'm after - it's $1 but out of stock on that website. Someone in Europe has them, but they are something like 30 Euros shipping.

Looking at a Kahler locknut I have here it is a 10-32 thread  on it - chances are yours would be the same

I have previous experience of sourcing bolts using measurements so if it's definitely a 10-32 thread then I think I can get something from either westfield or my local place.

Just received the 10-32 screws and they don’t fit (too big).

After a fair bit of trial and error the screws are:

8-32 UNC x 1/4" Socket Button Head Screws (ANSI B18.3) - High Tensile Steel Self Colour

I bought them from GWR Fasteners
