A bit of a longshot and niche. I have a bit of a soft spot for non SG a-like double-cut guitars and I'm trying to identify the guitar on the right in the picture at the top of this article. I've struggled to find a clearer shot - not really the done thing for a noise rock act like this ..

That headstock logo says Rickenbacker but I'm not a Ricky expert.

There is an SG on the left and a Rickenbacker on the right

Cheers. I shoulda looked at it on a bigger screen. Even I'd have recognised a Rickenbacker!

It certainly looks like a Rickenbacker to me. Like WezV said the SG is on the left. Sorted.

I'd never heard of them but being named after a pixies song is promising, have listened to their new album it sounds okay, a bit too heavy into the screaming vs melodic for me but decent.

These are unusual for Rickenbackers in having wide necks, humbuckers and a conventional bridge. They do have a bit of Rick character but they’re almost the ‘anti-Rick’ in many ways - ideal if you find normal ones too quirky.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

@munckee I thought the same, tried the new album. First started okay until the either accidentally or unintentionally out of tune ‘singing’. Nah.

    Great band!
They absolutely are! Burning Sugar is also a great album. I'm struggling to think of a vocalist has more 'range', conviction and and energy wise. Some brutal moments!

Certainly not much Rick character in this band's output ;-)

Hadn't heard of them (why would I, I guess?) so looked them up as I'm bored. Some nice guitar sounds for sure, I won't yuk-on-someone-else's-yum on the vocals as I'm not typically into the Yoko Ono thing so I wouldn't know if it was good or not. But some tasty guitar sounds and gear shifts on there - nice looking Rickenbacker guitar as well!
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

Thanks for such a considered response ;) I appreciate it is a vocal style that is extremely marmite. Like opera - you're either going to love it or hate it.

I feel I could turn this thread into a post rock/noise rock/post punk support thread, but that's for another time.

Are there any pre bands?  That'd show foresight.

There's already a thread over in the Music section (thread title: New Music) where these genres are prominent.
