Can anyone recommend an amp stand? I’m using a mesaboogie studio 22 at home and I’m loving it but sounds even sweeter when elevated a couple of feet up. Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated

I've used have a amp stand from LakefrontWoodCo. Stuff from Poland takes an age to reach the UK, but am happy with the stuff they've made for me. They were happy to adjust their dimensions, so could be worth seeing if anything there is in the right ballpark https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LakefrontWoodCo

my favourite one is this althought this is for stage so may not work at home unless you're a couple of feet away.

it doesn't get in the way of effects send/returns and other cables in the back of the amp.   It gives a decent angle, and folds down really well.

alternatively a painters step actually does a really good job/ stick a rug over it or something and it will last forever..

I have the Fender one, but I wouldn't buy it again - purely because the bit the amp sits on is welded in a right angle. It's durable, but it means it won't fold flat, making it a PITA to store and transport.

So that issue is worth bearing in mind, I guess.

I've recently started using an upturned document crate like this https://cratemate.co.uk/crates/standard-lidded-crate . I previously used an Auralex Gramma mat so place that on top of the crate. It doubles up as a great storage and transportation unit for gigs.

I’ve had two purpose-made amp stands that failed in use. I now use a decorator’s ‘hop-up’ that I got from Wickes for less than £30, and painted black - it’s both lighter and stronger.

I use a folding piano stool for smaller combos which is adjustable.

The other advantage of a hop-up is that it is level, while most amp stands are tilted backwards - this is fine with a combo, but less so with a cab and head setup.

I had these two made from some left over oak worktop I had and I’m very happy with the results. The amps are at a better height for home playing, my two pedalboards fit neatly underneath, and the stands look great imho!

^ Great solution in terms of practicality and aesthetics

You should think about making these commercially

Thanks. Me being a walking disaster at DIY I had to pay someone to make them for me! Out of interest what sort of retail price do you think they might sell for? They cost me considerably less than the ones in Etsy from Poland that were linked in an earlier comment, although I did provide the wood for mine.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I’m going to try a painters step or even an old milk crate maybe
