Gibson Les Paul Standard 2013 on loan

My friend has kindly loaned me his Gibson Les Paul standard 2013. 

In 2012 they changed some of the specs of the Les Paul standard and thus this has -

1.Grover locking tuners. 
2. 4 pull push pots which -
a. thickens the bridge humbucker.
b. thickens the neck humbucker. 
c. Out of phase. 
d. blower switch which bypass all of the circuit and goes from the bridge pickup straight to the output jack.

Looks nice! Are any of those pull pots usable? How convincing is the out of phase sound? I can’t imagine ever needing to thicken a Les Paul neck pickup.

I don't like the thickening pull pots on the neck and the bridge and I find the blower switch to trebley but I love being able to flick from standard LP tones to the out of phase, really cuts through the mix.

Great looking guitar, but why do they put tapered knobs on push/pull pots? You just can't grip them properly.

Are they not coil splits? Never heard of a push pull to thicken a humbucker.

From the video it sounds like a partial split

Ah ok, so has a fatter split/tapped sound, rather than thickening the humbucker sound. Was out at the time of my post so couldn’t watch the video. Sounds good anyway.
