I never turn the gain past noon on the GT500, and most of the time I have it well below that so definitely worth a look.  Might be able to liberate a bit of cash as well.

Alternatively, given that some nice person has posted the schematic it may be possible to have a go at building one.  Does anyone know of a site giving a vero-board layout?
