I believe there's a Rothwell Hellbender going in the classifieds within  your stated budget at the moment - that's a lovely Marshall-esque sounding, beautifully built, and generally very classy pedal for the money. 

I'm also a big fan of the Danelectro Cool Cat stuff - both the regular (silver) Overdrive (alleged OCD clone) and Transparent (gold) Overdrive (alleged Timmy clone) are great sounding pedals (not just for the money, they're great full stop) if you can live with the weird shape, awkwardly placed controls, and ethical issues - look out for the V1 versions in particular.
