Got 'stitched' on Ebay. Surprise, surprise. Buyer now has 'car repair' bills apparently.

So think I'll try Reverb.com instead maybe. Anyone else on here tried it?

    :-(

Never tried reverb to sell but sure it'd be good to reach people but as it's mostly american I think the exchange rate would work against you and spark a tgp debate about the price of Klons.

Can't you go back through the previous bidders?

Yes, one of them has offered to buy it from me. Just I have a feeling that this time I should maybe have a 'backup plan' for selling it.

So thought Reverb.com might be good.

They seem to  list between $1800-3000 on there.

Something like this best cash in hand.  Sell it to the local guy who is interested.

  • Gutted for you.

Maybe list it as Buy It Now for the price it sold for? Gives all those bidders a second shot.

    Just shoved it on Reverb...

Luckily I'm not in any rush and so if it takes six months to sell then that is fine.

Have you thought about selling via a shop? I've friends sell guitars that way. The shop will take a small commission but so does ebay & PayPal.

    Yeah, contemplated it.

I'm only selling as the value has shot up so much the last few years and I don't really use it as much as I used to.

So its more a see what I can sell it for scenario.

Looking at your bid history I'm not sure how many of them were serious. I'd be tempted to block anyone with a 0 rating (can do that in the auction) and stick it up as a £1400 BIN with best offer on it for 30 days. Auto reject anything below £1300, auto accept anything above £1350. If it was me that is ;) I also would definitely sell to the states. Just fully insure the delivery and put that in the costs. Oh and get someone to subtly pimp it on TGP.

You'd still be looking to pocket at least £1050 or there abouts in hand once delivery and fees were taken care of. Which can't be sniffed at for a $300 pedal.

I live close to you, so I would pay you what you paid for it in cash and as a goodwill gesture throw in some leftover Qaulity Streets from Christmas, but only the hard toffee ones! Can't say fairer than that and it would save you posting it to the USA :)

So since I put my Klon on Reverb I have been informed by some 'Klon Collectors' that it is one of the rarest models made.

    A long tailed silver Centaur!

    First year of production too!

So I had a quick Google and found this place in Japan

Nice! I never knew it went into such detail on tail length.

That shop is sitting on a gold mine! Although I do wonder how many they shift.

And yet there's still nothing that tells you what 'corksniffer' is in Japanese.

Its like anything when it becomes 'collectable', Everything becomes a 'version' fonts, graphics etc

Still nice to know it is one of the first ones made in terms of production year and looks.

Might be worth giving Charlie Chandler a call.  He sells on commission.  He may even have a list of people who have asked him to call them if one comes up.
