If you listen to vinyl, what turntable do you use? I have an Audio Technica LP120 USB, but it's making a terrible motor noise, so I'm looking to change for a good turntable with an inbuilt phono stage.

I've had a Linn LP12 Sondek for about 20 years.  Will never get rid of it.

Yep LP12 with mission arm here. Picked in up for£200 15 years ago. Was about £1500 new if not more

LP12 for me ... but there's nowt wrong with Pro-Ject for those with a smaller budget, they get good write-ups in HiFi News

Any suggestions for a cheap but good phono prr-amp currently have a cheap maplins job that does not even have an earthing point.

I have a NAD I bought from Richer Sounds years ago, which quite clearly is a Rega of some sort. 

I bought a Cambridge Audio amp from there as well, and had a phono preamp installed inside it. At that time, nobody was into vinyl so they made the preamps but sold the amps without them (cheaper); but it's a five minute minute job to install one, even for an unqualified salesman. They probably come with them already installed now, seeing as vinyl is as trendy as artisan beards these days.

Rega Planar 3 with the amazing SRM-Tech upgrade and Goldring 2400 stylus. SRM-Tech also do upgrade kits for Project and Linn turntables I think; they're well worth a look if you want to turn your good record player into a great one. And they do the modifications themselves if you take your record player to them (Biggleswade).

The record players don't, though their amps do.

I already have an amp, so I need a deck with an inbuilt phono stage to lug into the AUX of my amp.
