I have a discussion running at the moment looking for a new drive pedal. The wampler plexi drive videos on youtube sound super. Any forum members got this pedal.

i had one a few years ago and there are better Marshall-types IMHO (esp Weehbo JTM and Xotic SL). Not sure that's the best solution to your low-gain needs, which I'd have thought would be a Timmy, Liquid Sunshine III, AC Booster or maybe best of all the XTS Precision MultiDrive, one of which was in the classifieds a few days back. Couple of great YT clips of that around

The ZVex Box Of Rock creams the Wampler. Especially if you're after vintage Marshall style gain.

The BOR is a true modern classic pedal IMO.

You can stack the BOR with other pedals nicely too. Run a TS or something in front of it if you like... It loves it.

A Bogner Ecstasy Red or Blue would literally blow the doors off both.

They really sound fantastic. I have the Red, and it's VERY close to the Red Channel of the 101B I had. (Providing the amp that's delivering your core tone plays nicely with pedals.)
