Good Amp Switcher (for two amp setup)?

Will soon be running two amps, one for cleans, one for dirt.

Are you looking for more than an A/B/Y box? If not, the Switchblade has served me well for years now

@hubobulous - That simple? Is there any issue with popping, or any delay?

I've got an A/B/Y from Bright Onion. Slightly different to the usual switching setup in that it has an on/off switch for each output, whereas most others I've seen have an 'A or B' switch and a 'Both' switch. They can make anything you want to suit though. You'll have to watch out for ground loops though. The pricier units will have one of the outputs transformer isolated to stop this, cheaper ones won't. However, Orchid Electronics (smashing little UK based company doing hand made DI boxes etc) do a stand alone isolator pretty cheaply. If you grab one of them you can stick it on one of the outputs of any inexpensive passive switcher and get the same results.

@mike257 - I'm not sure ground loop hum will be a problem if I'm running only one at a time?!

Yeah, but once you try it you'll realise both together sounds great! I don't do it often now as i've been playing in bands where i've needed to take up minimal space, but when I was using the two amps I loved combining the clean and dirty. All the gain and filth but with note definition and clarity of the clean mixed in is lots of fun!

In terms of A/B/Y, then I think the Switchblade is good and reliable. There are other brands of course. However, using two amps together could also be cool, (I have the Morley Tripler which would achieve this, but again, loads of options).

True, but then "true" bypass is just another way of saying "badly engineered"!

I've had a few Lehles over the years and they're great but have also found the Radial Twin City Bones (nope, no idea what that's about) ABY with phase and ground lift switches equally good, robust and cheaper and smaller. One of my Lehles went wrong too, so they're not infallible

Hey @JohnPerry - As you've used both Lehle and Radial, does the Lehle (specifically the one @Gassage posted on eBay) have a phase correction, or is it unnecessary?
