    Terrible mess though, and we talk about modern electronics being difficult to repair! 

    Not saying its impossible, but it wouldn't be much fun either.

  • Point to point just looks nasty. Turret board amps are generally really nice looking, although if I made one I'm sure I'd wind up with a birds nest of hell :)

    The inside of your average point to point wired guitar amp is mostly fresh air!

    When I had a look inside my old Bad Cat, the component count was so low I thought I'd bought one which hadn't been finished....

    I do find it amazing that anyone thought that that was a reasonable way to build such a complex circuit.
